The property

Spoke and Vine Motel is a freshly reinvented motel with old-yet-sturdy bones, thoughtful design, sustainable features, and clean, comfortable rooms. This is NOT your grandpa’s motel.

We believe in kind, attentive service, delicious coffee, quality bedding, good vibes, and rooms that look as good as they feel—all with a healthy dose of snark. This is not the Ritz, after all.

Check-in, get settled, then head to the Motel Bar and patio to rejuvenate. We’ve created the perfect atmosphere for you to kick up your feet, take in the view, and make some new friends. Enjoy local and carefully curated drinks, snacks, charcuterie, and local food truck fare. Start your day with a bloody Mary or mimosa, then plan your adventures!

The neighborhood

We’re perfectly located within walking distance of all the food, wine, beer, mead, and fruits your heart desires. We aim to be your favorite place to stay in Palisade and the entire Grand Valley.

Good to know

There is no fine print. Our rooms are simple, ultra-clean, and comfortable. We might have a modest exterior (call it minimalism!), but our luxury beds will lull you to sleep, our stylish and functional spaces will inspire you, and you’ll have everything you need to enjoy an adventurous stay. (Unless you describe yourself as “high maintenance”—this might not be the place for you if you like bellboys, full-service concierge, and someone to fan you with a palm frond while feeding you grapes.)

Check-in/Check-out Lobby: Check-in is at 3:00 p.m. and check-out is at 11:00 a.m. Room check-in details are sent via text rather than visiting the lobby upon arrival, so you can go straight to your room and get settled. Don't forget though, we are always readily available to assist you. Complimentary, locally roasted coffee, tea and breakfast will be delivered to your room in the morning.

The story

Built in 1955. Brought back to life in 2019.

You know those old motor lodges? Run down, dingy rooms with 1970s decor, popcorn ceilings, showers you couldn’t turn around in, shady managers, and dirt-cheap prices? The ones grandpa liked to stay in to save a buck or two on road trips?

Yeah. That’s SO not Spoke and Vine Motel. At least, not anymore.

The people behind the property

I’m Jody. My husband Jeff and I bought what is now Spoke and Vine Motel in late 2018 after I stayed a couple of nights at “the old motel” for a girls’ weekend getaway in Palisade in 2017. After what may be considered one-too-many glasses of wine, I proclaimed to my girlfriends, “We should BUY this place! It could be so much more.”

Despite the possibly impulsive, wine-inspired proclamation, the thought stayed with me. Jeff and I have strong backgrounds in property management and hospitality, so it wasn’t a stretch to imagine. But Spoke and Vine is unlike any other project we’ve undertaken.

We adore Palisade. Everything we love to do is right here. So we spent countless nights staying up late, excitedly planning and discussing what the motel might become. And we’ve since spent months hard at work reinventing Spoke and Vine—just for you.

We’re changing the way you motel.
